Leaders in Innovation: AGILE is a new Executive Development Program focused on developing the business skills of scientists from across Canada whose work touches on genomic science strategies or related fields. The interdisciplinary program utilizes expert faculty and eminent guest speakers to discuss the principles of strategic leadership, financial management, pharmacoeconomics, business
valuation, intellectual property, licensing and regulatory issues, financing and the principles of business plan development. The program is designed to provide participants with a solid knowledge base of innovation, from commercialization and bringing a product to market, to adoption and translation into the health system. It will enable participants to understand and overcome challenges, and build a network of peers who are involved in similar life science innovations.

The Leaders in Innovation series is designed to develop influential minds who possess the capabilities and the business know-how to lead and transform the health care system in Canada and around the world. As part of the Leaders in Innovation series, the objective of the AGILE program is to empower health scientists with the pertinent knowledge and commercialization skills to successfully launch primed discoveries into the marketplace. Collaborative discussions, targeted lectures, and facilitated workshops led by seasoned entrepreneurs, world-renowned faculty and industry leaders are designed to impart insights into barriers and opportunities surrounding adoption of health innovations. These will include key considerations for developing prognostic market assessments, deploying appropriate managerial teams, communicating business pitches, and managing regulatory approvals.
