The Centre for Applied Genomics (TCAG) and the Ontario Genomics Institute (OGI) hosted a series of webinars with Dr. Lauryl Nutter from NorCOMM (North American Conditional Mouse Mutagenesis project). NorCOMM is part of a global research initiative focused on developing and distributing a library of mouse embryonic stem (ES) cell lines representing a single-gene trapped or targeted disruption in every gene of the mouse genome.
The presentations included information on:
- how these resources reduce the costs associated with generating new mouse models (eg. ES cell propagation, mutagenesis, chimeric mouse generation and phenotyping)
- the unique alleles and tools developed by NorCOMM
- finding cell lines with disruptions or mutations in genes of interest
- how you can access these libraries
These webinars were intended to introduce principal investigators, clinicians, technicians, graduate students and others who are interested in using mouse models in their research to the resources NorCOMM has to offer.
