OGI and The Centre for Applied Genomics (TCAG) partnered to co-host a 1 hour web conference/webinar about next generation sequencing services at the facility.  The presentation was led by Dr. Sergio Pereira, Next Generation Facility Manager at TCAG and provided information on:

  • Overview of TCAG and services provided
  • NGS technologies at TCAG
    • NGS experimental design
    • whole genome vs. exome sequencing
    • RNA-seq
    • CHiP-Seq
    • Metagenomics
    • Mate pairs, paired end, etc.
  • Laboratory workflow (library prep, emulsion PCR, turnaround time)
  • Data analysis (how is data processed and given to clients)
  • Additional bioinformatics support
  • NGS costs
